Some innovation drives transformation.
MATHER INSTITUTE CONDUCTS
research TO MOVE THE INDUSTRY FORWARD
Founded in 1999, Mather Institute shares innovations and next practices with the goal of improving aging services. By regularly collaborating with universities around the country, the Institute serves as an innovation incubator, transforming the senior living industry by bringing leading-edge research to real life.
In addition to conducting and sharing its own research, the Institute curates and interprets relevant studies and emerging next practices, spreading information that can positively impact older adults and those who provide services to them.
Our Age Well Study offers exciting news
Mather Institute’s landmark Age Well Study is the latest example of our commitment to the industry. It is the only national longitudinal study to evaluate the impact of living in a Life Plan Community on residents’ health and well-being. The findings from Year 1 of this five-year longitudinal study reveal that Life Plan Community residents tend to have greater emotional, social, physical, intellectual, and vocational wellness than their community-dwelling counterparts.
USING OUR PASSION
By partnering in research endeavors with community organizations, academic institutions, and health care organizations, the Institute has become a leading source of industry innovations, helping to enhance the lives of older adults and transform the practices of those who provide services to them.
