Jackie Winter, a 12-year resident of The Mather, was at a local park with her grandkids in 2022 when she noticed a group of people cleaning. Inspired, she reached out to the City of Evanston and learned about the Adopt-A-Park program, which invites community groups to help maintain local parks.
“I knew we needed a park that would be easy to get to, no big streets for the elderly to cross,” Winter said. “And lucky us, Raymond Park, just a block from The Mather, was available.”
