A trifecta pretty much means a bet and you can bet on the fact that Stanley Weinberger, 83, was sure proud to be No. 71.
Weinberger, a nearly two year-resident of The Mather in Evanston and a former Glencoe resident of nearly a half-century, participated in an indoor triathlon Feb. 16 in Skokie. Old Orchard Life Time Athletic fitness club, at 5300 Old Orchard Road, hosted triathletes.
Weinberger, accompanied by his wife Betty of 53 years (who did not race), completed the triathlon in about an hour after three heats that included swimming. The biking and running portions were clocked on stationary equipment.
