Mather LifeWays Receives National Seniors Housing Awards For Marketing Excellence

Evanston, Ill. (July 7, 2008) – Mather LifeWays, a not-for-profit dedicated to creating “Ways to Age Well,” announced today that the organization has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as among the “best of the best” in the seniors housing industry with three awards for marketing excellence.

The awards were presented during the 2008 Best of 50+ Seniors Housing Awards ceremony held May 20, recognizing The Mather’s continuing care retirement community brochure (Innovation Award), as well as the retirement community’s direct mail campaign (Gold Award).  A creative advertising campaign for Splendido, the organization’s Tucson-based retirement community, was recognized with a Silver Award.

“We are very proud to be honored by the NAHB for the second consecutive year with awards that identify innovation in marketing to older adults,” said Mary Leary, president and CEO of Mather LifeWays.  “What we find most gratifying is recognition within the industry that Mather LifeWays is among those organizations who are meeting the need for unique and innovative approaches to senior living.”

The NAHB 50+ Housing Council, which has promoted excellence in the 50+ housing industry for the past 16 years, presented awards in 58 categories to current and on-the-boards projects from across the United States and as far away as Japan.

A 12-member panel of architects, builders, designers, marketing professionals and universal design specialists judged projects on innovative architecture, interior design, merchandising, marketing and how effectively they responded to the housing demands of the burgeoning 50+ market. Marketing categories focused on brochures, advertising campaigns, sales centers and special promotions.
